An elderly woman was found dead in a wooded lot Tuesday after apparently getting lost while retrieving the newspaper from her driveway on a cold Monday morning.
Margaret Quigley, 91, turned the wrong way and walked down the street instead of back to her house on Old Stone Highway, police said. The lot is about a half-mile from her house.
Her daughter reported her missing Monday, but a search of the immediate area around the house found nothing.
Then police got a call from a man who said he spoke with a woman on nearby Greenway Street.
She told him she was waiting for her morning paper.
