The Town of Riverhead will receive $200,000 in state funding through the New York Main Street Program for improvements to the Business Improvement District. The program is designed to support revitalization efforts that serve to improve downtown areas and enhance local business and cultural activities.
Of the three areas that will be renovated, said Supervisor Phil Cardinale, is the old Woolworth Building, which will be revitalized either as a multiplex, most likely, or used by the Culinary Arts Institute.
